Previously, Walmart buyers don't use Dead Net profit 2.0 because of the efficiency. There is a third person Data Analyst who will download the data and analyze the data for the buyers. The process takes longer for users to get the data because of the additional step.
‍
How might we provide a simple platform for buyers to start using Dead net profit by themselves to expedite the process for them to get the data?

Launch Plan

Who Are the Buyers And Their Responsibilities?

Buyers are the people who purchase the products for Walmart customers through the buying trips per year.

After purchased products come into the Walmart stores, buyers will proactively negotiate with the suppliers for a lower price.

Define the Problem

Because of the inefficiency, the buyers are not using the existing tool. The buyers need to get the data quickly before or during the negotiation. However, the process takes longer for users to get the data because of the additional step.

Emphasize the Users

Goal - Try to get when/why/how/where users will use DNP and the pain points for using the existing tools.
‍Methods - I conducted 4 user interviews and 1 user observation.

How might I improve the efficiency of using filters to help to find the data quickly?

Filters Design Ideation

Timeframe Filter

Before - Timeframe Filter
aFTER - Timeframe fILTER

Main Filter

The consistent feedback for the main filter is not efficient.

Too Many Clicks on Filters

There are 5 main filters and users need to click confirm on the each popup of 5 filters.

No Preview on Selection

There is no preview on selected filters.

Repetitive Filter Selection

Users are applying the same filters for majority of the tasks.

View Iteration

Main Filter New Feature - Save Filter

Save Filter reduces 10-20 clicks (about 5 minute). Users could re-apply/edit saved filters.

How might I reduce loading time from UX perspective?

Rethink About Scope of Loading Data

Previously, the entire dataset will load no matter if the users need the information or not. Hence the loading time takes 5-7 minutes to load.

Before - Load all data
aFTER - Load Basic data + cUSTOMIZATION

📖 Challenges & Learnings

• Talk to engineers at an early stage to validate the design decisions
It is never too early to involve engineers to understand the feasibility.
• Validate the design with users very often since no actual users are using DNP 2.0
